Darkness came like a thief, blotting out the brilliant light of a faithful life and stealing the hope of all who longed for a hero.
People searched for direction, for reassurance that time-honored ideals—tradition, decency, love for each other—would not vanish, would not be lost forever. They watched as evil staked its claim, winding the clock, quickening the advance of conflict and despair.
This was not merely the death of a man. It was an act of targeted violence, an assassination meant to silence, to divide, to destroy. The wound it opened reached far beyond politics. It exposed the stark depth of division and the hatred that has hardened so many hearts.
Yet even in this false victory, evil cannot taste the sweetness it seeks. A greater Savior is coming.
Until His time, we will remember and honor the one who stood in the breach—who gave his life to remind us what redemption looks like. A redemption we are ready to receive.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. — John 1:5
This is a powerful piece of writing—poignant, heartfelt, and full of truth. You’ve expressed the weight of loss and the assurance of hope with such clarity. Ending with John 1:5 ties it all together perfectly. Thank you for sharing my friend@
Thank you for the kind words, El. We all must do what we can to keep the light shining. I am grateful to have this humble platform from which to speak, to bring notice in some small way. As always, I appreciate you standing with me.
Jamison, this is brilliantly written. An assassin took the earthly life of a gentle, intelligent, courteous man of faith who was always willing to debate his views civilly and who represented the vast majority of us who long for political discourse on a level that lifts us and opens our eyes and hearts to Jesus’ teachings.
Ah, but the assassin will not silence Charlie Kirk. The groundswell of followers in Jesus and in Charlie’s gentle manner is rising, and his many debates and appearances are being seen and heard by twice the people who followed him in life.
His widow has pledged to carry on his message, and we are all seeing that while we grieve the loss of this wonderful man and mourn for the pain of his wife and beautiful children, we also realize it is our turn. We must carry forward his torch. Thank you for remembering him in this stunning post.
May he rest forever in the arms of the Lord, and may we, every one of us, remember his courage and civility whenever we need the stamina and courage to speak out against our Christian values!
K, due to the overwhelming response, I have decided to post it on FanStory tonight. I can only hope it helps to keep the flame burning. As always, thank you for your invaluable and inspiring support. – Jamison
Well done. What a beautiful tribute to Charlie. He was a loving Christian man who tragically left us way too soon. God bless his wife and precious children.
Charlie was certainly one of the best of us. I hope we never forget his energy, his spirit, and his wisdom. Thank you for reading, Katherine. – Jim
Well said. Charlie was a good Christian and just a great man. His time on this earth was cut short by a mislead individual. God bless his soul.
A great man, indeed, Dick. I can only imagine what he would have accomplished… Thank you, my friend.
Oh Jamison, this says it all, and is so true. People were so happy to have someone like Charlie to follow. Someone we have waited for was the key here and now he is gone. But as his widow and so many others have said, We are Charlie!! We won’t let his live’s dreams be snuffed out with those with so much hate in their heart.
So how can you not share this with the others on FanStory? I have something written too but I think I am leaving mine at home after reading this remarkable piece. It says it all. All of how I am feeling, and by reading the other comments here, you have mirrored the feelings of so many others. Do I have your permission to share this with my children? They are all distraught about the assassination.
I do have a little hesitation with mine as well and that is because of the strong left sided opinions there. And yet, I have to believe that most are very understanding when a man, a husband and father of two small children has been murdered.
Thank you again for sharing this masterpiece. It’s one that should be shared professionally. Absolutely beautifully written. Great job!
You have a wonderful tribute here and I will be first in line with a ten star review for you. Here and anywhere else you share it.
(I wish that ten was possible) thank you ahead of time for permission to show my children. You did a remarkable job on this one, my friend.
Love, Debi
Dear Debi,
I am absolutely humbled by your words. I thought of you when deciding to share this. I knew you felt the same loss—the void Charlie’s death left behind.
I can imagine that Charlie would say to share these words with all who will listen.
This piece is about something deeper than politics. You certainly have my permission—and my appreciation—to share with your amazing family and beyond.

Charlie was LOVE. Every word he spoke was true and for a purpose to make our world better place.
So well said, Carolyn. We will never forget Charlie’s message, his plea to us to show love. It’s universal and unstoppable. Thank you for helping to keep his message alive. – Jamison
That is the most profound well articulated response I have read. From the hand and mind of one who knows and shares the direction Charlie lived his life, you too are a beacon to follow.
Well done my friend
B
Thank you, my good friend. We all must help to continue Charlie’s ministry in any way we can.
