Your wisdom flows like honey, rich and slow,
Through stories shared that help him see life through.
Sixteen now, childhood charms he’ll soon outgrow,
He’ll grow up, but he’ll never outgrow you.
You teach him truths that Siri never could,
Like how to spot a friend who needs a smile.
When simple kindness does the greatest good,
At tender twelve, I hope he learns your style.
She loves it when you hold her tiny hand,
And let her help you bake those special treats.
Six candles on a princess cake so grand,
A hug makes every happy day complete.
Three decades on, you’re lovelier each year,
Your smile still leaves me speechless, takes my breath.
In service to others, your light shines clear,
Forever my wife, my life until death.

Author’s Notes:
A Christmas keepsake for my wonderful wife. Inspired by our amazing “grands”: Christopher (16), James (12), and Leah (6).
Once again I am in awe of how perfectly you are able to create amazing tributes. Your love for my sister and your grands is certainly exhibited in this writing. Love this poem.
What a special review, Paula. I will cherish it. Thank you.
I love love, love the poem, Jim. What a wonderful tribute to your beautiful wife.
What a beautiful tribute – a love poem – for your wife. She’s lucky to have you, a husband who loves and admires his partner so much. And your grandkids look joyous. Happy New Year to you and yours, Jamison. xo
